WHAT IS IT?

The OCULUS 5M Keratograph® is a piece of groundbreaking imaging equipment that changes the way we diagnose and treat dry eye disease. This brand new machine is among the latest advances in optometry. It is especially useful for testing, diagnosing, and treating dry eye disease!

WHAT DOES IT DO FOR ME?

The OCULUS 5M Keratograph® offers the following benefits to you:

It allows us to capture a series of high-resolution pictures, scans, and videos of your eyes, glands, and lid margins in a non-invasive way. These are compiled to provide a detailed report of your diagnosis.

This report provides an insight as to what factor(s) are contributing to your dry eye symptoms and allows the Doctor to tailor treatments to the root of your condition. Based on this report, the Doctor will prescribe at-home therapies and/or in-office treatments to help slow the progression of the disease, ease your symptoms and provide a greater quality of life for you. 

HOW DOES THE OCULUS KERATOGRAPH® 5 WORK?

The OCULUS Keratograph® 5M integrates a high definition camera, keratometer, and corneal topographer into one seamless and state-of-the-art imaging machine. This precise and innovative tool will:

• Capture infrared images of the Meibomian glands, the glands that produce the oil layer of the tear film. These images will show the structure of the glands, whether they are healthy, have atrophied, or have drop out. 

• Assess the health of the Lid Margins and Lashes to see if you have Ocular Rosacea, Telangiectasia or spider veins, or any bacterial build-up.

• Measure the Tear Break-up Time with precision of where on your cornea it breaks up first and how quickly, letting us know how stable the tear film is. 

• Analyze the thickness and quality of the Lipid Layer or fat of the tear film.
